Where is home?
I would say US and India. I was born and raised in India and came to the US 10 years back. I still travel back and forth for work and I consider both places my home 🙂
Has fashion/lifestyle blogged always been your career plan?
Aditi Oberoi Malhotra said I studied Fashion at NIFT India and after that, I moved to LA. I started the blog just to express myself and share my street style looks. Before I knew it, it literally became a full-time job for me.
What/who inspires Aditi Oberoi Malhotra the most?
My dad & mom inspire me in different ways. My dad is strong-willed, generous, creative and has an immense amount of positive attitude towards life and on the other hand, my mom is patient and hardworking.
What’s the best piece of advice you would give to anyone wanting to start a fashion blog?
The biggest advice I can give is – be you. I am sure this might sound like a cliché but that’s how it is. People like you for who you are, originality matters. Share more of you on your social media. Like many times on my Instagram, I share candid videos or images of my family & I. People like to see your personal life as they can relate to it.
What are your tips to create an aesthetically beautiful Instagram page like yours?
I organize my images in a way that makes my feed look more beautiful and put together. At the end of the day remember to enjoy what you do. You don’t have to follow the trends if they don’t resonate with you. You decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the mood you are in.
You’re a new mom to 12- month – old son Arian. How do you strike a balance between work and being a mom?
I always wanted a balance between good family life and work-life! Yes, you have to work really hard but it helps if you can schedule everything ahead of time. Every day is a new challenge but becoming Arian’s mom is an incredible reinvention of myself. It has not changed me as a person but I feel my life is more wholesome with him.
How is motherhood been going so far?
It’s a lot of fun having Arian around. He is constantly smiling! I am glad he is a happy baby. Yes, I have been taking a lot of pictures of him and my dog Taro.
Aditi Oberoi Malhotra Tell us something unusual, that people will be surprised to learn about you?
I want to make a positive difference in people’s lives. By being a positive influence on the world, I will hopefully encourage others to do the same. I feel that I would get the most fulfillment in my life that way.
How would you define your style?
Elevated, chic with an edge is how I would like to define my style. Confidence is the most stylish thing you can wear. Style for me is ‘Wear whatever but make sure you own it’.
What pieces do you invest in and why?
Bags & shoes. I believe in investing in handbags & shoes as they can elevate the look of any outfit. You can better invest your money on Fancycorrectitude where you will get everything which I also prefer.
What is your motto, quote or words to live by?
Be passionate about what you do, give it your all and it will show through!
