The MPPSC is a body under the Constitution of India responsible for the recruitment of personnel for various positions or vacancies in the Madhya Pradesh government. MPPSC hires candidates for multiple roles in the Madhya Pradesh government by merit and reservation. So, a person who wants to apply for different posts in the Madhya Pradesh government must take the MPPSC exam.
More importantly, however, they must meet all the eligibility requirements. If they fail to do this, they cannot write the exam.
What are the Eligibility Criteria?
When you talk about the eligibility criteria for writing the MPPSC exam, many factors come into play. For instance, all the applicants must be graduates, having got their degrees from a government-recognized university. Moreover, they must be between 21 and 35 years. Regarding this age limit, the government provides some relaxation for candidates from backward classes, including SC and ST.
Under this rule, SC and ST candidates can get up to 5 years of relaxation. In comparison, applicants from the other backward classes get up to 3 years. Similarly, you can get up to 10 years of age relaxation if you are physically disabled or a widow.
How Many Attempts Do You Get?
The MPPSC exam has three stages: a preliminary exam, the main exam, and an interview. General candidates have only five attempts to clear this exam, while SC and ST candidates have unlimited attempts. Similarly, you will get seven shots if you are a candidate from any backward classes other than SC and ST.
What If You are a Candidate from Another State?
When applying for the MPPSC, rules regarding domicile suggest that a person must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh and must also have completed the 10th and 12th grades in the state to be eligible.
What is the Cut-Off?
To qualify for the next stage in the selection process, General candidates must secure at least 40% marks. In contrast, those from the backward classes, including SC and ST, must secure 30% marks. The cut-off scores depend on various factors, including the difficulty level, vacancies, and the number of candidates who appeared for the exams.
Also, the MPPSC AE cut-off scores for the different tiers of exams, including prelims, and mains, will depend on these factors.
The latest notification released by the commission proposes 330 vacancies under the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.
What is the Exam Pattern?
The MPPSC exam consists of two phases: Preliminary and Mains. Candidates must attempt two papers in the preliminary phase. The first exam, General Studies, will be for 2 hours and have 100 questions. Paper- I will carry 200 marks, where each question carries two marks.
Similarly, Paper-II, that is, General Aptitude, will also have 100 questions. Each question carries two marks, making a total of 200 marks. Also, like Paper-I, candidates will have two hours to attempt Paper-II.
The main exam consists of six sections, including four General Studies papers, General Hindi, and Hindi Essay writing. Three of the four General Studies papers would carry 300 marks, and the remainder will have 200 marks. Similarly, General Hindi and Hindi Essay Writing will take 200 and 100 marks each.
You will get three hours to attempt all the papers in the main exam, except for Hindi Essay Writing, where you will get only two hours.
