In her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me”, pop icon Britney Spears opens up about her tumultuous relationship with Justin Timberlake, who she dated from 1999 to 2002. Among the shocking revelations, Spears claims that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake, who allegedly pressured her to end the pregnancy.
Spears and Timberlake met as preteens on the set of The Mickey Mouse Club and later reunited as pop stars in the late ’90s. Their young love story captivated the public but also faced intense scrutiny and criticism. After their split, Timberlake released a revenge song, “Cry Me A River”, which implied that Spears cheated on him with a lookalike actress in the music video.
In her memoir, Spears writes that she was pregnant with Timberlake’s child in 2001, but he convinced her that they were not ready to have a baby. She says that he accompanied her to the clinic, but did not support her emotionally afterwards. She also says that he leaked the news of their sexual relationship to the media, which contradicted her previous statements that she was waiting until marriage.
Spears says that she regrets having the abortion and that it was one of the most painful experiences of her life. She also says that she still loves Timberlake, and hopes that he will apologize to her and to Janet Jackson, who he performed with at the controversial 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.
Spears’ memoir is set to be released on October 24 and has already sparked a lot of reactions from fans and celebrities. Some have expressed sympathy and support for Spears, while others have criticized Timberlake for his actions. Timberlake has not yet commented on the allegations.
